I'm Elyce
Hey
I'm a licensed therapist, girl's girl, soon-to-be author (omg pinch me!), and a human who cares a lot about mental health. I'm the founder of The Therapy Co., a private practice in California and the creator of big empathy energy®.
It's Personal
My "why" is deeply personal. My mom- Cathleen, her story, and the experience of losing her to suicide as a kid is what keeps me connected to what I do and why I do it. She was an amazing mom, a babe, and I am so grateful that I get to honor her through my work.
The Therapy Co.
Therapy with Elyce
In my therapy practice, The Therapy Co., I primarily work with high-achieving women through trauma, anxiety, suicide loss & all of the highs, lows, and in-betweens of life. I would describe my approach as a therapist as relational, modern, and eclectic. I like to blend modalities to best support you, your needs, and your story.
My Purpose
My purpose is to encourage others to embrace their story, lead with empathy, and build compassion for themselves.
& to change how we talk about suicide, help people reconnect with themselves after loss, and remember those we have lost to suicide for who they were as a whole person- not just for how they died.
AFTER HOURS
Off the clock you'll probably find me with my little family, sipping on a London Fog tea latte, taking a million photos, listening to everything from Bruce Springsteen to the best 90s and 2000s songs, or binge watching a good show. I have probably 20 started, but unfinished journals, a stack or 2 of unread books sitting on my desk, and am excellent at productively procrastinating. I'm big on creating memories and cultivating nostalgia (hence the millions of photos I am taking) and I save everything I find meaningful.
VALUES
You deserve to feel like you belong and like there's a seat saved for you at the table. I care so much about creating spaces where you don't feel like you're "too much" and you feel valued for who you are- just as you are.
Empathy is something I want to cultivate for others and encourage them to have and share too. It's quite literally what "big empathy energy®" is all about.
Stories can help us to make sense of what we have been through, stay connected to those we have lost, AND serve as an amazing reminder that we are not alone in our sh*t.
We need one another and I will shout from the rooftops how important healthy relationships with others are.
Heavy on this one. Community can be a reminder that we are not alone, that there are others who have our back, and that we have a collective responsibility to one another.
Human first. Showing up authentically gives others permission and encouragement to do the same.
